Healthy Family Recipes: Freezer To Oven Meals

Feb 10, 2014

Healthy meals can be a challenge for busy families with sports and other afterschool activities. Too often, it is easier for the family to grab a fast food meal. More often than not, families have parents who both work.

Don't compromise good eating just because you are busy. Freezer to oven main dishes can be the answer for a healthy family meal that can be prepared in a hurry. Make meatballs and freeze them. Use  in recipes that can be made from them without thawing. Frozen uncooked boneless chicken breasts can also be used in recipes.

Frozen chicken breasts can be cooked in a 350 degree preheated oven in less than an hour. Top them with barbeque sauce or other sauces for variety about three-quarters of the way through cooking.

Try this recipe for rosemary-lemon chicken.

  • 4-6 Boneless frozen chicken breasts
  • A few springs of fresh rosemary
  • Lemon slices
  • 1/4 Cup melted butter
  • 1/4 Cup olive oil
  • 2 TBS Crushed rosemary leaves

Place frozen chicken in a shallow dish. Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven. Mix the other ingredients and baste the chicken while it bakes, piercing with a fork so that it absorbs the liquid. Garnish with lemon slices and  sprigs of fresh rosemary.

Eat well and stay healthy with quick meals using frozen meat. For all your health and life insurance needs as well as auto, home, disability and watercraft insurance contact Gateway Professional Insurance Services serving the Vacaville, California area.
