Operation PROMises is a group that hosts an event for young women who need gently used prom attire in our community.
NorthBay Healthcare and Soroptimist International of Vacaville are putting out the call for donations of prom-style dresses, accessories, wraps, purses and shoes to support the fourth annual Operation PROMises event, scheduled March 11 at the Green Valley Administration Center in Fairfield.
The event provides prom wear for high school girls in Solano County who couldn’t otherwise afford to attend their proms. Last year more than 80 girls walked away with dresses and other goodies. We have seamstresses onsite to assist to make each dress fit perfectly!!
Especially sought after are non-average-size shoes — sizes 5-7 and 9-12.
Cash donations are also welcome. Make your check out to NorthBay Healthcare Foundation and put Operation PROMises in the memo field.
Anyone wishing to volunteer time or services is encouraged to all (707) 646-3303.
Donations are welcome at NorthBay’s Secondhand Rose Thriftique, 322 Parker St. in downtown Vacaville Tuesday through Saturday. Hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
